Okuda san
Miguel has turned an ordinary train into a vibrant display of colorful
characters. Completed for the Kiev Metro in conjunction with the
Independence Day of Ukraine, the metal cars are canvassed on both sides by a
wildly prismatic configuration of shapes, symbols and figurative illustrations.
As part of a public project managed by ArtUnitedUs, Okuda has painted an entire train from the existing Kiev metro network.
Ten compositions are distributed across five cars, each bearing the
Spanish creative’s distinct personal style and forming ‘an introspective
trip into his art’. Colorfully painted faces are pictured alongside vibrant
geometries, abstract expressions of flying birds and motifs sourced from
the sky and universe.
